Part time Stream Monitoring Coordinator for our
Gambier Island Knowing our Fish Creeks Project
$20-25 per hour - 16 weeks - average 8 hours per week and some weekends
If you love to spend time on Gambier Island and are looking for a paid part-time role from August through December, this position may be for you.
We are seeking an individual who enjoys spending time outdoors and has experience successfully leading and coordinating volunteer efforts. This role works directly with our project lead on Gambier Island on streamkeeping activities. This 14-week position requires walking in rugged terrain while coordinating the streamkeeping activities on Gambier Island.
The focus of the job is to support the project lead, working with a biologist and other partners to ensure the successful implementation of streamkeeping activities. The successful candidate will ensure protocols are followed and provide accurate recording and reporting.
The successful candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, physical fitness, and a proven ability to work effectively in a team. Indigenous cultural awareness is required, and a background in nature-based activities is preferred.
