Complex Challenges

With approximately 46,000 people living within the Biorpshere Region on the edge of a growing metropolis, managing growth and resources is challenging. The region offers many case studies of typical and unique problems, it is all going on here in Howe Sound.

We need critical thinkers that can take a multi-disciplined approach to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

Biospheres seek to strike balance between sustainable development and biodiversity conservation. Sustainable Development Goals frame the dialogue and provide a guide to measuring the success of finding that balance.

Decision support tools have been developed specifically for the region, how we progress towards a holistic comprehensive land and marine use plan that is a key challenge to be discussed at the All’a7tsem/Howe Sound Roundtables.
